Hokkaido is the northern most island of Japan, therefore getting the best snow of all Japan. It is known for its superb powder and picturesque trails, and offers some wonderful backcountry skiing and virtually no lift lines.
And despite the cold, it's not unusual to keep up the fashion wearing mini skirts on -26°C days.
