Overview

Coronet Peak is barely out of the outskirts of Queenstown and boasts a sealed road all the way to the carpark. Like most NZ resorts it isn't all that large and is above the tree line but does offer a great range of skiing and boarding. There are very limited onsnow facilities other than the main complex (which offers ski hire, lessons etc) as it is so close to Queenstown there is no on snow accommodation.

Activities

EDIT ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Dining

Cafe only

PLEASE EDIT

Shopping

One small unimpressive ski/board shop. Not worth buying anything there, best to buy your gears in Queenstown due to more competition and variety of products.

There are on slope photographers who would take your pictures during the day and print the picture for you at the end of the day for you to take home as a souvenir. Be warned that buying the photos from the official photographers are expensive, at $30 per print.

Ride Guide

Beginner Areas

Standard beginner pomas and bunny runs

Groomed Runs

There are groomed runs off every lift and a supertrail style one the whole way down. Like most resorts these are hard and fast early and then depend on traffic and weather as to how they hold up.

Off Piste

Quite a lot but don't do it in a white out! There are no trees here, nothing for definition and there are some VERY big cliffs.

Out of Bounds

PLEASE EDIT

Cross Country

Parks & Pipes

They have 2 pipes and a terrain park, maybe more now.

Bumps

PLEASE EDIT

Powder Zones

Lift out to the far skiers left usually holds the powder for a little while after a dump and you can get freshies there for quite a time. It is a T-bar which slows the traffic volumn down a bit.

Sheltered Runs

Being above the treeline there isn't a lot of option here, if it is miserable you are out in it.

Snowplay

Lots of options as the base elevation is above the snowline so plenty around if that is all you are after.
