Overview

Homewood is a great little resort on the shore of Lake Tahoe. While Heavenly, Squaw and the like are drawing massive crowds this place just chugs away with short lift queues and some great skiing is on offer.

Location

West shore of Lake Tahoe, just 6 miles from Tahoe City, 1 hour from Reno and 3 hours from San Fancisco.

Pros

  • Low crowd numbers
  • Super easy access

Cons

  • Little lower so snow softens faster
