The Kosciusko Chalet

In 1928 the government declared that it would erect a chalet at Charlotte Pass. Nothing was done about this until 2 people died in the area later that year and the Government Tourist Bureau selected the site and a sum of 4800 pounds was earmarked for the initial project.

The Kosciusko Chalet was built in the summer of 1930 and opened on Saturday May 30, 1930. It was burnt down during a blizzard in August 1938 and rebuilt in it's current form in 1939. It was the first lodge at Charlotte Pass.
