Location

Pros

The closest ski resort to Melbourne. A family-friendly resort. Perfect to 'experience' snow. One of the most-extensive cross-country trail networks in the world.

Cons

Because of its low altitude, snow can be marginal in poor years, and at the start and end of a season. However, Lake Mountain has a reputation as a spring mountain, so don't discount skiing there until well into October in a good year.

Accommodation

On Mountain

There is no on mountain accommodation during the winter. In the summer, Snowgum Lodge is available for rental. Phone Marysville Tourist Information Centre on (03) 5963 4567.

A well-staffed ski school is located on the mountain and lesson are recommended for all beginners and others as their ability progresses.
