Sawpit Creek (often shortened to Sawpit) is a location on the Summit Road from Jindabyne up to Perisher and (in summer) Charlotte Pass. The entrance station for Kosciuszko NP is now located at Sawpit Creek.
Sawpit has a camping area, with cabins and tent sites. There are toilets and hot showers. On the other side of the road, through the snowgums, there are some beautiful snowgrass plains. Look for fire trails off the road. There are now locked gates on these trails.
There is also an interpretive centre operated by the NPWS at Sawpit. You can often find kangaroos in the picnic area.
There are three walks in the Sawpit Creek area. They are the Sawpit Creek Nature Track, a short stroll through the snowgums beside the creek, the beginning of the Pallaibo Track down to the former Park entrance station and the Waterfall Walk, a loop on the other side of the road.
