Schladming is one of the main towns in the Enns valley which has access to several ski areas. It has direct access to the Planai area as well as good access to the areas of Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen & Reiteralm via ski link lifts or shuttle bus. Access also to the Dachstein glacier by shuttle bus. It is also part of the large Ski Amade region. Schladming hosted the Ski world championships in 1982 and will host it again in 2013.
It has excellent modern facilities including comfortable 8 seater gondolas, many quad chairs and also an 8 seater chair. The numerous on mountain huts also make it a very civilised experience. It has always been known for the wide Autobahn type pistes which are now even wider. The differemt mountains are also all covered under a single ski pass.
